Hooked can be found in Windsor, Fitzroy and Hawthorn, and offers consistently healthy and tasty fish and chips on the go. It's not exactly your old-school shop run by that sweet little Greek couple with Chiko Roll posters hanging about and a Moon Patrol arcade game in the corner, in fact, Hooked offers a much more 21st-century take on the classic.
In operation since 2006 at its Windsor premises, Hooked opened its Brunswick Street outpost in 2011 and the Hawthorn restaurant not long after. Inspired by (owner) Ray 'The Captain’ Good’s childhood holidays spent working at his Uncle Johnny’s fish and chip shop in the UK; Hooked makes healthy food with a twist – crispy school prawns served with a chilli lime aioli, Baja fish, grilled prawn and chipotle black bean tacos, as well as the favourite potato cake.
Lunch Box Specials and weekday student discounts are appreciated, and the beer or cider on tap are even more so. Swamped with 'vintage' nautical decor, Hooked is the place to be for the ultimate vitamin D fix.
