Features
From the gentlemen behind Coin Laundry and Station Street Trading Co. comes Tall Timber, a friendly cafe complete with an outside courtyard and street seating away from the bustling thoroughfare of Commercial Road.
The overwhelming feeling is of a rustic outpost, accentuated by the pots of herbs spilling out from the middle of communal tables. The idea here is simple produce done well – where you’re not going to be overwhelmed by fancy terms on a menu first thing in the morning.
The Niccolo coffee is roasted on-site. The house blend is used for white coffees, while black uses beans from a rotating selection of guest roasteries.
The provisional menu has enough familiar characters to make those fond of Coin Laundry’s offerings pleased, especially in terms of the generous portion sizes. Expect quinoa porridge, brioche French toast and a few Mexican-inspired dishes to pop up.
