Guild of Objects moved to Fitzroy in 2018.
Guild Of Objects is a collaborative concept by ceramicists Brooke Thorn, Chela Edmunds (of label Takeawei) and Tao Oudomvilay and houses colourful curios from Melbourne makers.
The three small-batch potters all work from Elm Place Studio. After hosting a series of pop-up shops, they plotted a retail store that would share their work and experimentations as well as that of other native talent.
Among the thoughtful edit of work in the shop are ceramics from Jessilla Rogers, Tessy King, Jiah Jiah Chen, Barbara McIvor and the three co-creators, as well as jewellery from Seb Brown and Ellinor Mazza, and clothing by Primoeza, Inside Outside and S U N D A Y. Scarves by Edith Rewa and Charlotte Campbell, Smalltown macrame planters, Belinda Evans weavings and Elizabeth Barnett prints also feature, with a selection of easy-care indoor plants rounding out the offerings.
A lot of the pieces in the shop are one-offs. Guild of Objects is a place to run your fingers over the physical objects, and feel those tactile handmade nuances that make each piece unique.
