Kyneton is well known for its many natural mineral springs. If you’d like a free taste, head west along Piper Street until you reach a service station. Across the road there’s a picnic spot with a rotunda and a self-serve mineral water tap.
Pump it for a taste, or fill your empty drink bottle with the fresh and salty carbonated stuff. The water is an acquired taste for some, b. But it’s the spot is fun and provides a rather pretty view over vast farmlands beyond, nonetheless.
If you’re taking some water with you, drink it quickly. Once oxidised, the water turns brown and while it’s still drinkable, it doesn’t look so appetising.
