The Vault on Church
The Vault on Church opened in mid-2019, picking up where the previous tenants left off to serve all-day eats in what was once Morwell’s original 1950s English Scottish & Australian bank.
If you can look past your habitual morning latte, Vault is known for its campfire hot chocolate with hickory smoke and toasted marshmallows.
The extensive menu is quite the globe-trotter. Treat your tastebuds to a trip to France with the croque-monsieur (ham, cheese and mustard mornay baked between slices of sourdough). Lunch can come via Shanghai in a Chinese pancake served with a fried egg, crispy pork, Asian salad and lemongrass dressing.
Entrees are inventive – like an arancini-buffalo-wing hybrid – and mains range from meat dishes and pasta to vegetarian and gluten-free plates.
It also hosts regular themed dinners, which are four-course affairs focusing on cuisines from different world regions, from South America to Southeast Asia.
