With a handy takeaway window, commuters swing by this cafe for a latte with minutes to spare before the City Loop train pulls into Malvern Station across the road.

Owner Tennyson Andrew transformed the grungy garage overlooking the railway tracks into a bustling hole-in-the-wall espresso bar with his own hands. While the coffee window gets a decent workout with new faces appearing every minute for a caffeine fix, the interior attracts those with a bit more time to spare.

The breakfast and lunch menus feature a variety of fresh and seasonal ingredients with Andrew preparing the majority of the dishes himself. There's a chicken toastie with chives, avocado, kewpie, Bavarian mustard, cheese and rocket. The Avocado Smash on beautiful grain bread is also a popular choice.

When Master of None isn’t in full swing, Andrew is upstairs devoting his time to his eponymous Tennyson Design studio and a marketing and product development business. He’s a bit of an all-rounder.

The warm interior has an industrial edge with strong timber finishes throughout the space. Custom-made furniture by Andrew also features in the room, including the chairs, the tables and the coffee bar. On a nice day coffee crates sit out the front and customers can park themselves in the sun.
