Vue is a charming, environmentally conscious bed and breakfast set on 36 acres with views of Mount Baw Baw and (on a clear day) an incredible sunrise. You can watch wallabies hopping about from the large deck.

There are two rooms set on either side of the main house, each containing a queen-size bed and private ensuite. The property is off the grid, with solar power for electricity. Owner Anita Day collects fallen wood to heat the otherwise modern farmhouse.

At breakfast Day prepares a spread of homemade muesli, natural yoghurt and stewed rhubarb from the garden, along with bread and locally made croissants that can be topped with Day’s own jams or honey from her bees. Breakfast is seasonal, changing with the weather and what’s in the garden.

Day planted the avenue of ornamental pear trees and daffodils leading to Vue’s private forest. There’s a short circuit trail to follow, with plenty of birds and butterflies along the way.
