**Dirty Three Wines will open in May or June 2017, once its liquor license has been approved.
When Marcus Satchell had a chance meeting with pinot noir in the Yarra Valley in 1997, something about this unforgiving grape hooked him, and he’s been making wine ever since.
These days that involves growing pinot noir and riesling on an eight-acre vineyard in Leongatha South with partner Lisa Sartori, and turning it into wine under the name Dirty Three. The name refers to the three "dirts" (vineyards) the grapes are grown in.
The duo showcase their cool-climate creations at a cellar door in Inverloch. Here you can taste Dirty Three’s riesling, single-estate pinot noir and a pinot blend made from grapes sourced from other local vineyards, plus wines from likeminded local producers.
Post-tasting, linger in the cosy space and enjoy a cheese and charcuterie board. Local cheesemakers Berrys Creek, Tarago River, Pangrazzi, Bassine and Prom Country Cheese are all featured, along with meats from Isola Chianina beef farm, Amber Creek pork farm and Wattlebank Park Farm.
