Where To Watch the 2026 World Cup in Melbourne

The FIFA World Cup is the biggest sporting event on the planet. Every four years, millions of eyes turn to screens to watch their country compete.

The 2026 edition, hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, is the largest to date. This year the usual 32-team format has been expanded to 48 and runs from June 12 to July 20, with reasonably favourable start times for Australian viewers.

Key dates (all Melbourne time)
• Group stage: June 12–28
• Round of 32: June 29–July 4
• Round of 16: July 5–July 8
• Quarterfinals: July 10–12
• Semifinals: July 15 & 16
• Third-place playoff: July 18
• Final: 5am, July 20

When do the Socceroos play?
• Versus Turkey: 2pm, June 14
• Versus the USA: 5am, June 20
• Versus Paraguay: 12pm, June 26
• Versus Egypt: 4am, July 4

All Socceroos games will be broadcast live at Fed Square. If you can’t make it there, or to a pub listed below, all 104 tournament games will be broadcast live and free on SBS On Demand.
