Melbourne’s restaurants, cafes and bars are once again closed to dine-in customers. Show your support for them by ordering takeaway when you can – every little bit helps.

Attica at Home, one of last year's lockdown stars, is back for (hopefully) one last job. There's a three-course lockdown menu. It's $110 for two people, which is crazy good value. There's also an Attica Summer Camp themed souva feast, too. Attica's renowned burnt Basque cheesecake is also available.

Embla at home is back – hopefully for a good time, not a long time. It's $60 per person, and you'll get whipped cod roe; half a peri peri chicken on the bone; a lentil, rice and caramelised onion pilaf; heirloom radicchio with almond and xo; and slow-roast quince and brown sugar panna cotta for dessert.

Tipo 00, the biggest star on Melbourne's pasta A-list, is doing takeaway again. For this lockdown, it's teamed up with Fitzroy North favourite The Recreation to create a collaborative four-course finish-at-home dinner packed filled with pastas and warming winter dishes.

Richmond's yakitori-focused bar is wheeling its hibachi out onto Swan Street every day, with different skewered specials to try. Skewers include panko-crumbed eggplant, Wagyu, and chicken meatball. It's $5 for one or $12 for three.

Moon Cruller

Its grand opening day is Friday May 28. And thanks to its very takeaway-friendly premise, the brand new successor to Lune croissants should do just fine – regardless of the lockdown. Moon orbits around crullers – deep-fried choux pastry that’s twisty and crispy on the outside, and not at all what you’d expect on the inside.

This Carlton Chinese-leaning diner has rejoined the takeaway game. Choose from a range that includes curried spanner crab rice, charcoal roasted char siu and fried chicken chop. Be sure to grab something from the condiments section, too.

Lee Ho Fook is doing things a little bit differently for this lockdown. It's opening at lunch time, so it can cater to those who still have to work in the CBD or anyone who lives in postcode 3000. It's a simple menu cooked hawker-style on the wok: come for crispy eggplant, Wagyu beef char kway teow, and a mapo tofu dish. Each dish costs $15, and there are bottled Negronis for $12, too.

The beloved dive bar's New York-style slice shop, Connie's, is still running takeaway throughout lockdown. Be warned, though, these things are huge – order hungry or be prepared for leftovers.

This restaurant specialises in food from Thailand's Isan region, which is renowned for its flavourful – and very spicy – dishes. Sounds like the perfect winter warmer. Pick-up and delivery available.
