Features
Steve Jeffares has a long history of building buzzy third places in Melbourne – first co-owning the Local Taphouse in St Kilda, then co-founding Stomping Ground Brewery in Collingwood and Moorabbin. Huzzah, which he opened solo in 2026, is another medal for his chest.
The mostly open-air space contains a bar, dining area, pool table, bocce court and some private function spaces. The menu is a mix of pub classics such as a chicken schnitzel, beef burgers and fish’n’chips alongside more veg-forward Mediterranean dishes. There’s also pinsas (Roman-style oval-shaped pizzas) with crisp and airy crusts made from wheat, rice and soy flours.
The small wine list focuses mostly on local drops. There are also plenty of non- and low-alcohol options and, by Jeffares’s brewpub standards, “not that many beers” on tap (15).
