Ol’ Mate Coffee

7:00am - 3:00pm
465 Nepean Highway Frankston 3199

In 2015, no one in Frankston was serving serious coffee. Ol’ Mate arrived the next year with three other spots, creating a mini scene.

The cafe rotates through a different Commonfolk Coffee roast every week or so and likes to serve people-pleasing coffee rather than anything too trendy. Filter coffee is on offer, too. The staff recommends you drink it black to enjoy the gentler taste this brewing method offers.

The menu is simple: zucchini fritters, eggs benedict and baguettes. Also people pleasing, rather than fashionable.

Natural wood panelling on the walls and cutesy accessories such as shadow boxes and plants in terrariums create an uncomplicated, beach-y feel.
