Chris Lucas’s heaving joint takes the workingman dining halls of Bangkok and transports them to Melbourne, embracing share plates, no bookings and late hours. The pan-Asian menu runs a gamut from dumplings and school prawns to larger curries and soups, plus there is always the ‘Feed Me’ chef’s selection if all that choice is overwhelming. The Australian-only wine list and creative cocktails complete the package.
While the wait is half the fun (especially with the recent opening of Go Go Bar in the basement beneath the restaurant), skipping the line is even more of a joy.
