After opening Grand Trailer Park Taverna in November last year, co-owners Josh Lefers (Pawn & Co., Big Dog Creative, East 9th Brewing Co) and Dani Zeini (Dandenong Pavilion) began hatching ideas with Jimmy Hurlston (Easey’s). It’s kind of like the Mensa of burger minds.
The result is a forthcoming burger joint in Werribee called Truck Stop Deluxe. The lads have also paired up with west-side locals James Fava and Adam Toffolon, who previously ran Joe’s Diner in the same location.
Slated to launch on Wednesday July 22, Truck Stop Deluxe continues the transport-themed fit-out of Easey’s (trains) and Grand Trailer Park (caravans) with a big rig parked inside.
The menu will feature many of Zeini’s staple burgers, waffles and spiked shakes, with new additions such as a doughnut ice-cream sandwich. The Optimus Prime Burger is a double-beef patty, pork-belly bacon, mac’n’cheese croquette, double cheese, lettuce, tomato, secret sauce.
Truck Stop Deluxe will open on Wednesday July 22 at 98 Watton Street, Werribee, trading Tuesday to Sunday 11.30am until late.
