You’re probably quite familiar with this local foodie duo by now. Trotski & Ash – aka Sarah Trotter and Romy Ash – are two Melbourne girls who make one food blog. One designs and the other writes. Simple.
Since sharing a cup of tea with sweet fresh figs one afternoon, the pair have been cooking together, collecting recipes and documenting their trials and successes online, shot by their friend, photographer Lauren Bamford.
From web to print, Trotski & Ash have put together a limited edition wall calendar for 2012, to following on from their 2011 edition and just in time for Christmas. Each month showcases a recipe from their collection – from mandarin ice cream sandwiches in February to chicken schnitzel and slaw in May, quick pickled radishes in August and the perfect porridge in June – and a list of seasonal fruit and veggies available that month. The calendar is A5 size and made from recycled paper, tied with ribbon that can be undone at the end of the year to be used as recipe cards.
