After the success of last year’s al fresco food-court experience, the Trailer Park food-truck muster returns to satiate the appetites of chilly Melburnians. Calling back its favourite portable kitchens, there will be a monthly rotation showcasing 12 of the best menus, including Chingon, Beatbox Kitchen, and Waffleworks.
For those who haven’t dined on the best a truck can offer before, Trailer Park selects the most popular snacks on wheels and brings them together in one location. Trailer Park founder Jess Pryles believes the concept’s success is down to the simple fact that the trucks make great food. “It’s bringing all of those cuisine options together in one place,” she says. “It’s not about the truck, it’s about the food. There’s no one else doing Cajun food out of a truck like Gumbo Kitchen, for example. It’s about who’s doing fun, innovative food.”
And, if the idea of sitting on a street corner during a Melbourne winter isn’t particularly appealing, Trailer Park has you covered. To keep hungry punters warmer, Trailer Park has set up a fully heated indoor dining hall, so you can enjoy Korean fried chicken or crème brûlée rain or shine.
Trailer Park runs every Sunday from noon–8pm every Sunday of June, the weekend of July 19–20 and August 16–17.
