We’ve reported about the development of the western suburbs in the past, writing about cafes like the Social Roasting Company, Luncheonette and the Corner Shop, but in the coming weeks something really exciting is coming to the west’s cafe scene.

Partners Alex Anderson and Kate Holloway are due to open their cafe The Premises on leafy Bellair Street, Kensington in the beginning of October.

We’re expecting big things from these two and are anticipating a cafe every bit as good as Seven Seeds, Proud Mary or Dead Man Espresso. Alex and Kate have both been involved in Melbourne’s best cafes for years now, regularly working alongside Mark Dundon. Alex has spent time behind the machines at Ray’s, St Ali, Liar Liar, Seven Seeds and Flat White in London. While Kate has worked the kitchens of St Ali, Seven Seeds, Pound and Acorn House, London.

These two have been looking for the right space for some time now and many in the Melbourne coffee industry have been waiting to see what these two will do.

We’re excited for this one.
