It’s happy days for three Australian restaurants. It was announced last night that Brae in Birregura and both Sepia and Quay in Sydney, were included in the World’s Best Restaurants Top-100 list.
Both Sepia and Brae made their debut on the list at 84 and 87, respectively. Quay landed at 58, two up from its 60th position last year.
In an interesting point of difference this year, organisers of the World’s Best revealed the top 51–100 restaurants six days before the main awards ceremony in London on June 1, when the Top 50 will be revealed.
The omission of Ben Shewry’s Ripponlea restaurant Attica (which placed at 32 last year) from the Top 51–100 is a good sign that it will reappear in the Top 50 this year, too.
