We know it’s become a little repetitive, but we’ll remind you once again. Subscribe to our newsletter and you’re in the draw to win an all expenses paid Table for Six. Cutler & Co., Chin Chin and The Aylesbury have all had their turn, but this week it’s the big one – Vue de Monde.

Now in its third incarnation, surveying the city from its perch at the top of the Rialto, Vue de Monde is the pinnacle of fine dining in Melbourne (pun intended). The journey begins in the restaurant’s dedicated lift – no button pushing required, as it whizzes up automatically to the former observation deck. The interior is dark and moody; all black kangaroo-leather tables, fur and leather chairs, dim lighting and river rocks scattered on each table. A stopover at Lui Bar for cocktails with an Australian twist sets the mood and allows for the incredible view to be taken in.

This is dining as theatre, with Shannon Bennett’s signature degustation menus taking centre stage. Nothing is done by halves – ask for a glass of Champagne and you’ll be presented with the Champagne Cart and knowledgeable advice. Wait staff guide diners through the courses, punctuated with visits from the chefs, dishes prepared at the table, palate cleansers and a visit from the cheese cart.

An immaculate experience from start to finish, and impossible to get table at this time of year, you have to be in it to win it. Get subscribing!
