Next month, Andrew McConnell and his team will open Supernormal Canteen in St Kilda.
Before the Canteen opens in its Fitzroy Street home, the restaurant is partnering with UberEATS to provide a week of pre-launch home delivery to the St Kilda area. Delivery begins on Monday July 10, and to help finalise the new menu, they’re asking the public to help choose which Supernormal dishes they should bring with them.
The team is also giving away dinner for six to celebrate the restaurant opening, followed by a night for all six guests in three airstreams at Notel Melbourne, with all transfers taken care of by UberBLACK, plus $100 UberEATS credit to use at any time.
To win dinner and accommodation for you and five friends, repost one of the images of the Supernormal Canteen delivery bag from Supernormal Canteen’s Instagram, and nominate the Supernormal dish you most want to see on the Canteen delivery menu: the duck bao, the lobster roll, the prawn and chicken dumplings or the tonkatsu sandwich. Tag the five friends you’d take with you to dinner, along with @supernormal_canteen, @notelmelbourne @ubereats_aus, using the hashtag #supernormalcanteen.
The winner will be drawn on Friday July 7, with details on the launch date coming soon. Terms and conditions for the competition can be found here.
Supernormal Canteen originally ran over the summer of 2013/14 on the site of what is now Marion wine bar, as something of a “test kitchen” for the Flinders Lane restaurant. The Fitzroy Street site will be its first permanent home.
