If you’re going to round up your friends and get all dressed up, you might as well make a full day of it. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs around town offering pre- and post-race day events, or just a good place to watch the horses on the TV.

The Botanical
Celebrate Derby Day, Oaks Day and the Cup in close proximity to our glorious Botanical Gardens. The Bot is hosting a champagne breakfast with eggs, leek, salmon and potato as well as a glass of Pommery champagne for $25. There’ll be the usual race day coverage and live bands, but if you want to save the celebrations until after dark, a DJ is playing from 8pm.
