The grounds of Werribee Park Mansion are set to be transformed into the French countryside for an afternoon once again this coming January, with So Frenchy So Chic in the Park. Alongside some of the stars of the French music scene – such as Revolver, Melanie Pain, Nadeah and Carmen Maria Vega – taking the stage for leisurely sets throughout the day, French champagne, wine and picnic hampers stuffed with all manner of Parisian fare will be available.
Catering company Egg Unlimited is creating three types of hampers for the event, adorned in red, white and blue respectively. The red picnic box is made for one and filled with French classics like salmon mousse with mini croutes, cous cous, a Brittany baguette and a sweet orange friand. The white picnic box is vegetarian and perfect for a summer’s day. Also made for one, you can graze the afternoon away with this picnic box. The blue picnic share hamper is designed as a grazing lunch for two and includes parmesan palmiers, baguettes, salads, chocolate meringues and fresh raspberries. Order them here.
Other food stalls will also be on site selling macaroons, cheese platters, sausages, cassoulet, pissaladiere and tarte lyonnaise from North Melbourne restaurant Libertine.
French beer, Laurent Perrier champagne and Halle aux Vins wine from the Loire Valley and Provence will be kept chilled and flowing all day at the bar.
If this year’s event is anything to go by, So Frenchy So Chic 2013 is going to be one sweet summer’s day.
