Sometimes it’s best to keep things simple. It’s a mantra that holds true for the people behind Mr Burger. Having built a reputation for delivering hearty burgers to the masses via their five food trucks with two semi-permanent spots, Mr Burger are opening their first permanent outlet in the centre of the city.
Located on Little Bourke Street, the new burger joint offers the same three choices of burgers their food trucks have become famous for: Mr Burger, Mr Meat and Mr Veg. But don’t mistake their modest menu for thriftiness. These burgers are so big that they’re a little hard to wrap your mouth around. Daragh Kan and Myles Munro (the brains behind Mr Burger and The Mercat) have worked closely with local butchers to ensure the meat patties are made with premium cuts, while the falafel patties are made by a family-run business and are patted into place right in front of you. To complete the experience, the only other thing on the menu apart from drinks, is the burger’s favourite sidekick, fries, which come peppered in Mr Burger’s special seasoning.
The Little Bourke Street location has limited seating and lines have stretched out onto the street during lunch hour since day one. To cater to the burgeoning CBD crowd, the Mr Burger team are planning to make online ordering available soon as well.
