The Tomahawk challenge at The Village dares contestants to eat a one-kilogram Hopkins Beef River Tomahawk steak complete with (no doubt much-needed) English remoulade on the side. Travel to the Mornington Peninsula for beers and a barbeque at Red Hill Brewery. The Sunday session is fully booked, but there are still spots for lunch on Saturday after 2pm, offering the same Father's Day special. Top-quality meats are smoked for hours using traditional Southern American barbeque techniques. All dads get a free pot of ale on arrival.

Giving goes two ways at Feast of Merit. All of the profits raised at the contemporary Middle Eastern restaurant are given back to YGAP. With a tailor-made, vegetarian-friendly menu focused on local produce, the meal will nourish dad’s conscience as well as his stomach.
There’s something incredibly festive about yum cha. Some family sharing of salt-and-pepper calamari, juicy steamed prawn dumplings and tastings from the a-la-carte menu at David’s will complement your festive Father’s Day mood. The three sittings book out quickly so call ahead.

For its first Father’s Day, Saint. Urban is hosting Lamb with the Fam. It’s serving a selected combination of entrees followed by a delectable slow-roasted shoulder of lamb. This new Richmond wine bar will also have a children’s menu, making it a good one for the whole family.

Settle in for a set menu based around a traditional roast at Estelle Bistro, by chef of the moment and father of three, Scott Pickett. The a-la-carte menu is also available, but it’s pretty hard to go past a three-course roast lunch you can pay for with a single note.
