After a summer at the North Carlton lawn bowls club, Fancy Hank’s BBQ took some time off to recoup. It’s been a bit cold to eat outside after all. But for the next four weekends (July 6–28), Fancy Hank’s BBQ is setting up its entourage of pit smokers at Village Melbourne (ex-Belgium Beer Cafe) for its first venture on the city’s southside.

In this new locale, Hank’s will present The Battle of the Brisket, letting us compare the variations between Kobe Wagyu and grass-fed Black Angus brisket. Both will be cooked with chestnut timber and be given the same 16-hour smoky love, without an electric oven in sight.

In addition to brisket, Fancy Hank’s will be cooking their usual array of free-range pulled pork, baby back ribs, barbecue chicken, sandwiches, salads, pickles and homemade sauces.

We’re also pretty excited about the huge beer list at Village Melbourne – the perfect quencher to this smoky barbecue.
