Since its inception in 2007, The Spirited Awards has recognised the best bartenders, bars, drinks writers and all-round experts in the industry and has rapidly become the Oscars of the bartending world. Now, Melbourne’s own Black Pearl has taken out one of the most coveted of the international accolades, the Best International High Volume Cocktail Bar.
“Basically, it means you’re able to produce high-quality cocktails at a high rate,” says Black Pearl owner, Tash Conté. The award recognises bars that efficiently deliver quality cocktails to the masses, taking consistency and speed as key criteria.
A judging panel of over 100 international industry experts and a larger pool of nominees than ever before flocked to New Orleans Sheraton Hotel two days ago to announce the crème de la crème of international cocktail connoisseurs.
