We had a great first weekend at The Broadsheet Bar presented by Schweppes and to start off this week, Bar Ampere is taking over tonight and tomorrow night.

A relative newcomer on the scene, Bar Ampere opened late last year to almost instant success. This isn’t much of a surprise given that it’s run by the same team as Madame Brussels, Collins Quarter and Gin Palace. The Parisian by way of New Orleans vibe makes it one of the more unique venues in town, especially with the hidden ‘swamp room’ at the back serving little more than bourbon. There’s even a secret door that leads to Gin Palace next door.

For their stint at The Broadsheet Bar, Bar Ampere are bringing with them three special cocktails that don’t stray far from the bayous of New Orleans. The Beaux Arts blends gin, vermouth and a touch of pastis with fresh orange and pineapple juices. For those more rum inclined, the Sharks Tooth combines white rum, a touch of gin and vermouth with passionfruit, lemon juice and a dash of bitters. The Brooklyn is served martini style, tipping its hat to the south with a rye whiskey base, vermouth, maraschino liquor and bitters.

Wander down tonight or tomorrow for a taste of Bar Ampere at The Broadsheet Bar presented by Schweppes.
