Picture spending a lazy afternoon wandering around a beautiful, substantial estate ringed by the Yarra Ranges while sampling the house-crafted sparkling wine made from this very vineyard – all the while feasting on French-inspired delicacies. Got it? Good. Now, picture doing just this with nine of your friends.

In partnership with Domaine Chandon, Broadsheet is offering you the chance to win the ultimate in picnics (or Pique-Nique, if you’re a Frenchy) for 10 people on the winery’s fabulously-groomed lawn. It comes with Chandon cocktails, food and – of course – plenty of sparkling wine.

Executive chef Joshua Smyth has specially crafted a menu at Domaine Chandon just for this experience, with the all the favourites of Champenois cuisine. Think locally-made charcuterie, aged cheeses, oysters with the taste of the sea, piquant olives, freshly-baked baguettes, and, a sweet selection of macarons.

While the French would be right at home with this menu, Smyth has rooted his dishes firmly in the context of the picturesque Yarra Valley location in which they’re being served. See serves of local salmon with yoghurt and pistachios, and roast chicken with green beans and tarragon. Each dish comes accompanied by a special selection of sparkling wines chosen specifically by Domaine Chandon’s masterful winemakers.

Please note all Pique-Nique bookings are weather dependent.
