What puts a little extra pep in your step – the tiny wins that just make you feel good? It might be a spectacularly sunny evening post-work. A surprise discount. Taking your mates to your favourite spot and watching them fall in love with it. Those nights where one drink turns into dinner and dancing.

Night Shift – a new micro-festival for Windsor, presented by Broadsheet in partnership with rideshare company DiDi – is all about the pleasure of those nights.

To catch the last long, warm nights before daylight saving ends, we’ve teamed up with some killer Windsor venues to offer exclusive off-menu items (all with a fun orange twist, in tribute to DiDi's signature shade) from Thursday April 3 until Saturday April 5.

Freddy’s Pizza, an ambient Chapel Street spot known for crisp slices (including a banging mortadella number with sugo and fried mozzarella), is doing a special Negroni made with Tommy’s Mandarino. Produced by Freddy’s in-house liqueur label, the Mandarino is a limoncello-inspired drop with a sweet, zingy taste and bright orange hue.

Locally beloved Japanese diner, Tokyo Tina is sticking to the citrus theme with the Orenji Mezcalrita – an orange-flavoured mezcal Marg.

Mr Miyagi, the fun Japanese-style diner named after the famous mentor from the Karate Kid, is also embracing all things amber with the Orenji Roll – a salmon handroll made with orange sushi rice, tobiko (flying fish roe), spicy mayo, miso tofu and pickled carrot. Meanwhile, bar and arts space Young Hearts is preparing a hot and tangy Buffalo chicken tossed in warm honey and ranch dressing.

Elegant but unassuming wine bar Don’s is coming out strong with two Night Shift offerings: a malted rye crumpet with comté and a ribbon of zucchini pickle, and a beef tartare with sesame sambal, horseradish cream and Espelette pepper. Studio Amaro is whipping out a comforting Italian classic for the occasion: baked conchiglie in a vodka sauce with mascarpone and ’nduja.

Finally, the people at Pidapipo’s Chapel Street outlet are proving more is more with their Nutella-filled banana milk doughnuts – topped with banana milk gelato, salted caramel sauce and peanut croccante (Italian-style peanut brittle).

If you’re planning to try every dish – and we recommend it – you’ll want to take multiple trips or else stay out late. Either way, DiDi is coming to the party with discounted fares to get you to and from the Night Shift with ease. Just use the code “NightShift” when booking your ride.

Night Shift runs from Thursday April 3 to Saturday April 5 at various locations in Windsor. Use code “NightShift” from 5pm April 3 to 5am April 6 for a discount on your trip with DiDi. Terms and conditions apply.
