A cocktail without alcohol doesn’t have to be boring.
Orlando Marzo, who took out 2018’s World Class Global Bartender of the Year prize, only the second Australian ever to win the competition, proves that any cocktail – even one without alcoholic spirits – can have layers of complexity and distinct flavour.
In the video above Marzo, also the beverage director at co-working space Worksmith, shows us a concoction incorporating lemon, aniseed myrtle, mountain marigold and other herbaceous elements.
Just in time for Dry July, Marzo will host an In Conversation on July 2, discussing the booming trend of alcohol-free cocktails with the Seedlip team (whose non-alcoholic distilled spirit Seedlip Garden 108 is the first of its kind). Guests will also have the opportunity to taste his complex cocktail, which is available exclusively at Mercedes me Melbourne throughout July.
