What’s happening around town
• Gareth Whitton’s Tarts Anon is popping up opposite Maker & Monger at Prahran Market until the end of the month, ahead of its new store opening in Richmond in June.
• Hot-Listed Greek restaurant Kafeneion is now bottling its house-made tarama dip. Jars can be purchased from Toscano’s grocery stores in Richmond, Toorak and Kew.
• Chefs John Rivera and Ryan Dolan (ex- Little Odessa, ex- Broadsheet Kitchen) are teaming up for a one-night-only contemporary Filipino dinner at Rivera’s Askal on Wednesday May 28. The dinner is $69 per person and bookings are recommended.
• Melbourne restaurants are popping up at Mount Buller restaurant Villager this winter. Marmont will kick things off with a free launch party on Thursday June 5, followed by ticketed dinners on Friday June 18 and Saturday June 19. Entrecote and Movida will also host dinner at Villager, with more venues to be announced soon. The dinners are $295 per person, and tickets must be purchased in advance.
