• First look: At 24 storeys high, restaurant and bar Beverly brings the spirit of Los Angeles’ rooftop bars to South Yarra.
• At South Yarra’s new 12-seat omakase bar Aoi Tsuki, two Korean chefs prepare 20 or more courses a night while trading playful banter with diners and each other.
• Graze on $6 focaccia and $7 arancini at Carlton restaurant Epocha’s new happy hour Sip & Snack with classic cocktails and 18 wines by the glass.
• St Kilda’s century-old Saint Hotel has been reborn (again) – with five venues in one, including a flame-focused restaurant and Studio 54-inspired bar.
• Asian street-food market Hawker 88 Night Market returns for the first time since 2019 with dishes from Hareruya, Tokyo Lamington, Hoy Pinoy, Wonderbao and more.
• Taiwanese American comedian Sheng Wang is in town. We had dinner with him at Thai street-food spot Soi 38 and found out why he doesn’t draw on his heritage for material and what life has been like in the wake of his debut Netflix special.
