Anyone who has gone for a walk up Brunswick Street will be familiar with the peeling-paint walls of the Provincial Hotel. Previously two levels, it's opening a rooftop bar in time for warmer weather. The new space will be open tonight, Friday September 15.
The rooftop is fitted out with retro furniture and a simple booze set-up – 10 beers on tap, local and international wines, and cocktails.
A menu of classic pub grub will be available, including ‘The Johnson Jamma’ (a fried chicken burger with onion jam, cheese and bacon) and ‘The Sticky Smith Street’ (pork, sausage and pickles).
The rooftop will be open until 1am on Friday and Saturday, and midnight the rest of the week.
