Pidapipo’s Viral Gelato Hot Chocolate Is Back for 2026 With a New Matcha Twist

Christmas (in July) has come early. Pidapipo is bringing back its viral gelato hot chocolate for a third year (and gearing up for another season of long lines).

The popular winter treat is made up of rich 70 per cent dark cacao hot chocolate, a scoop of house-churned fior di latte and marshmallow gelato, with crunchy caramelised hazelnut croccante.

For those hooked on the green stuff, there’s also a new matcha variation this year. The hot newcomer offers the same hot chocolate base – this time topped with matcha whipped cream and milk matcha crumble.

The special has built a massive following since launching in 2023, with stores regularly drawing queues and selling out. Co-founder Lisa Valmorbida says eager customers start flooding Pidapipo’s inbox asking about the drink’s return well before the winter chill even hits.

The classic and matcha hot chocolates are available at all Pidapipo stores for $10.50 until August 31, 2026.
