Perfectly timed to bid adieu to winter comes the very first Market Square. A collective artists market being launched by some of the city’s finest creators, Market Square is set to knock your knickknack loving socks off and send you home with lots of new things and one gigantic wish list.

Chelsea Bagan of Trophy Wife Nail Art will be there doing one-nail wonders for those game enough to hand over one finger only; Son Valise JukeCases will be making us dream of summers in the park; and Sticky Fingers Bakery will be there to stuff you with baked delights.

For people who like the thought of turning pages, there’ll also be zines from The Sticky Institute and art, photography and design books from Perimeter Books as well as a silver airstream bus from the people at Dumbo Feather. For those who like pretty things there will be jewellery from Henrietta Walker and Two Hills, paper pretties from The Hungry Workshop, and some of the cutest neon dinosaurs around, from Dinopals.

If that isn’t enough to get you to don a beanie one last time, there’s also a range of artwork from Design Nani, Belinda Suzette and The Art of Dev.

And most importantly, there’s a sausage sizzle and a new bar that needs to be tested out. We strongly recommend you pack your pennies and a scarf. We’ll see you there.

Market Square launches on Friday August 31, 6pm–10pm at Abbotsford Convent, 1 St Heliers Place, Abbotsford.
