The undisputed queen of all things culinary, Nigella Lawson, was spotted at Piccolina Gelateria on Smith Street, Collingwood today just before 1pm.

Lawson was seen having her make-up done and photograph taken inside the store before the street-facing windows were covered.

English journalist, author and cook Lawson is in Australia ahead of her national tour, An Evening with Nigella Lawson, an interactive show where the audience will be encouraged to jump in with questions as Lawson shares insights on the role food plays in her life, what she’s cooking and eating now, and how she got to where she is today.

Lawson first graced our screens in the television series Nigella Bites in 1999. Since then she’s brought her relaxed, easygoing cooking style to multiple eponymous series, appeared in Masterchef Australia and alongside Anthony Bourdain in reality show The Taste, sold more than 10 million cookbooks worldwide, and released a cookware range.

She’s also known as the master of the midnight snack – though she’s also a firm advocate of daytime snacking, which might explain the Piccolina visit.

An Evening with Nigella Lawson is at Hamer Hall on February 9. Tickets here.
