The surf will well and truly be up if new plans for Surf n Play Aqua Park, in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburb of Dingley Village, go ahead.

After developer Pellicano submitted its initial plans in March 2019, what’s now on the cards would make this the southern hemisphere’s largest indoor-outdoor waterpark.

The newly announced surf park component would see the addition of a beach pool, plus a state-of-the-art wave machine generating six waves per minute at heights of up to six feet. There’d be a designated zone for beginners, while more competent surfers would be able to use the main surf area.

Prior to these new plans, the year-round waterpark was already set to have water-jet-powered slides, tunnel rides, a “lazy river”, an aquarium and more.

The plans are now with the City of Kingston for approval.
