Olive oil is officially everywhere – from ice-cream to cocktails – and Richmond’s Baby is getting in on the action.
The Lucas Restaurant’s venue, known mostly for its pizzas, has teamed up with Melbourne-born olive oil maker Golden Groves on an “Olive Oil Obsession” menu.
Yianna Velos, who co-founded Golden Groves with her sister Katianna during Melbourne’s Covid lockdowns, says the menu “has vacation vibes in abundance”. It’s inspired, she says, by sun-kissed olive groves and feasts shared among friends.

SHOP NOWIts six dishes are available until Friday November 17, and they all use the Velos sisters’ cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil. (The tagliolini with seared calamari is a tribute to the seaside tavernas in Mani, Greece, where the olives for their oil are harvested and pressed.)
Yianna’s hope is that people will kick back and enjoy golden hour – that time of day just before sunset when the warm, natural light is perfect for photos – with dishes like oil-drizzled mortadella pizza, a classic prosciutto and melon entree, and an olive oil-based dark chocolate mousse with sea salt caramel. To drink, there are olive oil renditions of a limoncello spritz and classic gin Martini.
The Olive Oil Obsession menu is available at Baby until Friday November 19.
