One More Sleep: Lune’s CBD Store Opens Tomorrow

Shutting up shop early for the day is a common occurrence at Lune Croissanterie. The Fitzroy original has attracted a cult-like following for its perfectly puffy golden crescents, and the store often runs out stock before the official closing time.
Tomorrow, the doors to Lune’s eagerly awaited city outpost open at 7am. And more locations mean one thing: more access to those coveted croissants.
Owner Kate Reid says the new bakery is the minimalist sibling of the Rose Street flagship: a concrete-laden “unbakery” with a whittled down menu for easy, on-the-go pastries. Five Lune classics – the plain croissant, pain au chocolat, ham and gruyere, almond, and the lemon-curd cruffin – round out the tight list.
The new store is located at the bottom of the historic T&G Building and was designed by Reid and Lune co-owners Cameron Reid (her brother) and Nathan Toleman. Inside, it has “a bit of a bunker feel”, Reid says. Expect Tron-inspired LED lights that hark back to the Fitzroy flagship, and lots of concrete.
The standing-room-only spot has set opening hours from 7am to 3pm, but that's only if Reid and co can keep up.
