First there was Huxtaburger, then Bluebonnet Barbecue. Now in the third instalment of The John Curtin Hotel’s kitchen takeovers, South Yarra’s Leonard’s House of Love will bring charcoal-chicken goodness and more to the Carlton pub in April.

“We’ve finally decided to make the journey across the river,” says chef and co-owner, Nick Stanton. Leonard’s opened in June 2015 and will keep operating as normal during its north-side residency.

You’ll find a pretty similar menu at its newest destination, with a decent selection of vegetarian options, too. There will be loaded hot dogs, cheeseburgers, charcoal chicken fries, nachos and tostadas. There will also be a few top-secret options released over the course of the residency.

Something else Leonard’s will bring over is Cheeseburger Tuesday. Every Tuesday there will be a menu with seven new burgers.

Leonard's House of Love takes over the kitchen at The John Curtin Hotel from April 13.
