After the success of the Windsor Sisters’ (Hanoi Hannah, Tokyo Tina and Saigon Sally) take over of The Broadsheet Restaurant last week, we’re bringing in our friends from Ike’s Rack Shack and The Beaufort to take the reins for an American-style rib night.
Next Monday July 20, Carlton’s hot and smoky duo will host the second Winter Night Dinner at the pop-up restaurant, at 166 Gertrude Street Fitzroy.
Ike’s will run the kitchen with new head chef Daniel Dobra (previously Brutale, Royal Mail Hotel and Greenhouse) barbequing hill billy tacos, ox tongue and, the main event, hickory-smoked pork and beef ribs. Ike’s dirty carrots, truffled mac’n’cheese and yam hash will also feature on the Southern-inspired menu.
Behind the bar, Dave Kerr and his crew from The Beaufort will shake up whiskey sours and juleps, and serve cold tinnies of Young Henrys Hop Ale and Real Ale.
With only a few weeks left before The Broadsheet Restaurant closes, this dinner is the perfect opportunity to experience what the pop-up project is all about: a celebration of those who help define Melbourne’s vibrant dining and drinking culture.
So roll up your sleeves for a feast and welcome Ike’s and The Beaufort to Fitzroy for the evening.
Tickets for Ike’s Rack Shack & The Beaufort Winter Dinner, on Monday July 20, are $50 per person for a set food menu. Drinks will be available for purchase at bar prices ($8–$15). Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
