The newly revamped Eastland Shopping Centre opens for business today. It includes the Town Square, with eight premium eateries surrounding one large open plaza space. Eastland 2.0 is being positioned as a new destination for food, drink and shopping for the eastern suburbs – another good reason to hop on the freeway (or the train).

Included in the plaza is Huxtaburger’s fifth and largest store. Opening for service tomorrow, it is neighbour to another Jimmy Grants, Frank Camorra’s Paco’s Tacos and Cellar Door – a rooftop beer garden serving Yarra Valley produce and wines.

“There’ll be seating for about a hundred people,” says Huxtaburger’s Daniel Wilson. “Forty inside, 60 outside. There are great big umbrellas to come. It’s all pretty impressive.”

The food menu is the same as at the Melbourne, Prahran, Hawthorn and Collingwood restaurants, but Wilson is excited to announce that the Eastland location will serve its very own Huxtaburger Brew for the first time – a lager produced by Holgate Brewery.

“There’s not a lot in Ringwood in terms of food, but so many people live out there,” Wilson says. “The Eastland guys wanted to bring a premium offering of food to people who will be excited by it.

“And it’s not really that far.”

Huxtaburger Eastland opens tomorrow at 175 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood.
