Hot Star Chicken, the Taiwanese chain known for its oversized fried chicken fillets, is tossing chicken skin into its deep-fryers for a limited time only.
With origins in Taipei’s Shilin Night Market, the chicken chain is going back to its street-food roots with this take on the classic street snack. The chicken skin is given a crisp coating, then fried. Customers can choose to add one of the chain’s signature flavours (salt and pepper, cajun, chilli or chicken salt) to their skins.
This is the latest launch from Hot Star’s range of limited quarterly items. Past seasonal offerings have included deep-friend Tim Tams, ice-cream and Cheese Bombs.
The new snack costs $4.90, and is available in all Melbourne stores now.
