Hanoi Hannah , the casual Vietnamese restaurant in Windsor, and now Elsternwick , is opening a third sibling in Richmond.
According to a proposed liquor-licensing permit, the team – also behind restaurants Tokyo Tina and soon-to-close Saigon Sally – has secured a site on Swan Street on the corner of Lennox Street, just a few doors down from the Corner Hotel.
“We originally opened Hanoi Hannah in Windsor because we saw a gap in the market for hawker-style dining in the South," says Charlie Rothery, co-director of Commune Group, which owns Hanoi Hannah and its sibling venues. "This site is reflective of how far we’ve come since our first venue; it’s our biggest and most daring yet and right in the heart of Melbourne, in a suburb that is synonymous with Vietnamese cuisine.”
The team hopes to open the venue in early 2018.
Hanoi Hannah Richmond will open at 81–83 Swan Street in 2018.
