Good News – Good Days Is Coming to Collingwood

Hot-Listed Vietnamese restaurant Good Days has been serving pho, noodle salads and “unfaultable” chicken rice in Brunswick since 2016.
Owner Nam Nguyen followed it up with Good Nights , which closed in 2023, and the wildly popular banh mi shop Good Days Hot Bread , which transforms into chicken shop Season at night and will pop up at next year’s Australian Open.
He plans to open a new Good Days noodle bar before the end of the year. The new location will be in the former Maha North space at 86 Smith Street, Collingwood , which Nguyen took over at the start of the month.
“The concept will be pretty much exactly like our original one on Sydney Road,” Nguyen tells Broadsheet. But the space will have more seats – 46 compared to the original’s 35 – and a larger bar area, which means there’ll be both teas and cocktails on tap, in addition to a small selection of wine and beer.
All stocks will be made in the Hot Bread kitchen to ensure flavour will be consistent across both restaurants, but everything else will be made on-site. Just don’t expect to find banh mi at the new location. “We get our bread from N Lee up the road, so we don’t want to step on their toes.”
Good Days is expected to open at 86 Smith Street, Collingwood , this year.
