Food & Drink Victoria, the organisation behind Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, announced the winners of its Legend and Trailblazer awards at a ceremony held at Chris Lucas’s CBD restaurant Maison Batard last night.

Among the winners of the Legend award were Chris Young, who has worked front-of-house for over three decades and is currently at Trader House; and Tim White and Amanda Schulze, the duo behind Books for Cooks , the indie bookstore at the Queen Victoria Market that’s been the go-to for food anthologies and cookbooks since 1983.

This year’s Trailblazers include Nagesh Seethiah of Manze and Boire ; cookbook author and media personality Alice Zaslavsky ; Aaron Trotman of Non; and Sava Goto of Tofu Shoten.

Nominees in both categories are put forward by past Legend award recipients, with winners decided by an industry panel.
