Taking over the site of the former Outpost cafe, Einstein’s Relative continues Eitam Brami and Tomer Gian’s philosophy of using locally sourced produce to create freshly prepared fare with a Middle Eastern-inspired twist.

Like Einstein's 251, Relative’s beans are from Small Batch and its menu is awash with the rich flavours of Brami and Gian’s Israeli heritage: Relative Baked Beans topped with an aromatic sprinkling of dukkah; chicken toastada slathered with harissa-spiced mayo; or the old school salad roll with challah bread.

Star selections from the menu at 251 make an appearance here too, such as the vegan acai wake up bowl and 251 Reuben: a towering structure of pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, pickles and Russian dressing.

Relative presents an intimate, fresh space that is creative with food, coffee and design. The fit-out reimagine’s a casual science theme, with steel industrial motifs, quirky wooden-block portraits of Einstein’s family, a hanging string garden and glass beakers. The guys’ also have a curiosity and willingness to experiment – they have invented a muffin-and-cookie hybrid called mookies.
