Broadsheet ’s new winter festival, Dine Out, will see 40 events take place in both Melbourne and Sydney. There are venue collabs, chef takeovers, one-off specials and more. But if you’re looking to really let loose, these three parties are the ticket.
Welcome to Winter Party with Johnny’s Green Room and Hope St Radio
Limited spots are available for this free party on Thursday August 7 at Johnny’s Green Room. For Dine Out, the Carlton rooftop is transforming into Super Milano, an ode to 1980s Milan with its bold fashion, Italo disco and vibrant cocktail culture. Johnny’s chef Karen Martini will create a winter snack menu and the team from Hope St Radio will curate the music. Register here.
Pickleback Party at Ponyfish Island
Grant Smillie, Andrew Mackinnon and Jerome Borazio’s Yarra River bar Ponyfish Island is hosting a pickleback party on Wednesday August 6, from 5pm to midnight. There will, of course, be picklebacks (a combo apparently created in Brooklyn where a shot of whisky is chased with a shot of pickle brine) as well as a vodka ice luge, aka an ice sculpture with a track carved into it that you pour vodka down carved into it. Walk-ins only.
Cocktails and canapes with Cam’s Kiosk and Gerald’s Bar – Sold out
Gen-Z favourite Cam’s Kiosk will team up with 19-year-old Hot-Listed institution Gerald’s Bar for an evening of one-off snacks, DJs and drinks at Cam’s Kiosk on Sunday August 10 from 3pm to 11pm. For $60 per person, entry includes “never-ending” canapés. Drinks will be available to purchase. Tickets are available here.
