Broadsheet’s new winter food festival Dine Out brings 40 events to both Melbourne and Sydney this August.
In Melbourne, from Monday August 4 to Sunday August 10, expect collaborations, pop-ups, one-off menus and other unmissable food experiences. Bistra x Corner 75 Dinner
One of the hottest Dine Out tables is at the collab dinner between Bistra and Corner 75, Sydney’s newly revived Hungarian institution. For one-night-only on Monday August 4, the Corner 75 team (also behind Baba’s Place and Sixpenny) will bring its reimagined Hungarian dishes to the Carlton restaurant. What happens when a sushi master, a steak pro and one of the country’s most exciting Malaysian chefs join forces? Morena Barra x Moonhouse Chifa Dinner
Alejandro Saravia, originally from Peru, will bring his Latin American cantina-inspired Morena Barra to Commune Group’s Moonhouse for a one-night-only dinner on Saturday August 9.
Saravia will showcase chifa, a cuisine that blends Cantonese cooking techniques with traditional Peruvian flavours, featuring dishes including Peruvian fried rice and braised pork spare ribs with a fermented black bean and garlic sauce. Book here.
Arnold’s x Bar Spontana Thai Tacos and Tasty Treats
Arnold’s and Bar Spontana are two venues that go beyond the typical wine bar menu, offering Mexican and Thai dishes, respectively. On Sunday August 10, they’ll pair up for a playful dinner at Bar Spontana. The set menu will focus on fermentation and charcoal grilling, with dishes including larb-style beef tostadas with toasted sticky rice, sour snapper curry tacos with Oaxacan cheese, and red pork cheek curry birria tacos.
