Julien Moussi is busy. The man behind Only Hospitality (Willim, Clubhouse Malvern) recently announced he’s relaunching The Beehive in Hawthorn next month.
Moussi is also working to turn the old South Yarra train station – previously Rah Bar and just next to the existing station – into what he tells Broadsheet will be a “fun, fast-paced and casual dining spot”.
“It’s a 200-year-old building, but the place has amazing bones,” he says. The venue’s concept is still in the works, with Moussi saying nothing is locked in yet, but that it will be a “fun culinary experience” with music playing a major role.

SIGN UPDrinks will be another primary highlight. The Only Hospitality group owner says he is first deciding on a cocktail menu, and the food will work around that.
Moussi has drawn inspiration from Melbourne’s night venues Arbory and Garden State. He’s keen to flag a spot of his own on Toorak Road where guests can enjoy cocktails and upbeat tunes.
The new venue is expected to open at 163 Toorak Road, South Yarra, next year.
